STAY WET PADI DIVE SCHOOL - The STAY WET DIVING CENTER started operating in March 1995 starting with a few certified divers and expanded to one of the best organized diving bases in Crete. Recognized by the Greek government, member of the "PADI RESORT ASSOCIATION" and certified by the quality control organization Veritas, it is keeping a high standard of security and service.

The STAY WET DIVING CENTER provides to it's costumers a terrace of 120 m from which half of it is over roofed, classroom, changing cabins, sweet-water shower, toilets and lockers. We also take care about the transfer from your hotel to the base and back (between Fodele and Malia). Non-divers are welcome on our base and have the possibility to rent beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach.

The dive center is equipped with 24 m BAUER compressors and complete and latest up-to-date equipment from Aqualung and Cressi. Sub for 20 divers. The tanks can be used for DIN and YOKE versions. 2 Rib-boats with out-board engines bring our certified divers to the surrounding dive spots.

Courses

Drive Pro - If you have a diving license (BSAC, PADI, NAUI, CMAS, etc.) we offer you various interesting and exciting dives in the North of the island. Most of our dives (where underwater life such as groupers, eels, octopus and box fish abound) are from the shore where refreshment is available straight after the dive. With us you can enjoy and relax during your dive. Because of the variety of sites, we provide you with an experienced member of our team, showing you our beautiful bay and the surrounding areas. The depth varies between 0 and 40 m reachable from the beach or the boat, offering the best supposition for all level of divers.

Discover Scuba Diving - If you are over the age of 12 and without any diving knowledge, this program offers you the great opportunity to experience fun and excitement of diving in only one day of your vacation. You will be under the direct supervision of a qualified PADI instructor during the whole program. You will follow a course of instructions (duration of about 45 minutes) given by an instructor speaking French, English, German, Dutch or Greek. Other languages are on request. He will explain you the basic of diving and the most important things to know before going under water. After the theory you will be split in small groups of 4 people experiencing their fist dive, guided by 3 diving professionals. You will never be left alone from us under the water! Our guides will introduce you to a new world full of fascination during a dive of 45 minutes and a maximum depth of 10 meters.

Discover Snorkeling - With the program you can experience the underwater world of one of the most beautiful bays on the north coast of Crete. A relaxing day in and out of the water is waiting for you! The new and modern snorkel equipment is provided by our dive center. You will participate a theory course where we explain you the snorkeling gear, the underwater world and the best way to use your fins, mask and snorkel. You will have 2 guided tours (one from the beach and one by boat) that bring you outside the bay and for the rest of the day you can feel free to go for your own discovery. Our instructors are available to answer your questions and if demanded to give you useful tips on snorkeling.

PADI Certificates - The STAY WET DIVING CENTRE educates you in the international recognized system of PADI. All our diving instructors have experience in teaching to dive with a high degree of safety and quality.

We offer you a complete curriculum for different levels of diving education. It starts with the first step, an introduction like Discover Scuba Diving program, up to the first professional certification. All courses can be given in different languages i.e. English, French, German, Dutch, Italian and Greek.

Equal which step you choose, if you are beginner or confirmed diver, alone or in a group, our priority is a good formation with fun and adventure!

Available courses:

SCUBA DIVER

For beginners, a sub-course within the Open Water Diver course; Duration 3 days

This course opens diving to those of you with time constraints, and those interested in diving in groups and tours guided by a certified dive master or instructor. It invites you to experience diving and encourages you to continue training to the Open Water Diver level and beyond. After finishing this course, you have the possibility to dive under the supervision of a professional dive master (or higher degree) until a depth of not deeper than 12 meters.

Course includes : 3 theory lessons, pool sessions, 2 dives in the sea, transfers from your hotel to the dive centre, all necessary equipment, insurance, PADI Scuba Diver certification card

Enrolment requires : to be over 12 years, medical statement of your doctor that you are fit for diving

OPEN WATER DIVER

Also for beginners with few or now diving experience; Duration 4-5 days

This course offers you the opportunity to become a fully qualified and independent Open Water Diver. You will learn the basic skills of diving in order to enjoy your future dives. With this license you can participate in diving excursions all over the world.

Course includes : 5 Theory lessons, pool sessions, 4 dives in the open sea, transfers from your hotel to the dive centre, all necessary diving equipment, insurance, PADI Open Water Diver certification card

Enrolment requires : to be over 12 years, medical statement of your doctor that you are fit for diving

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

Adds some more fun and experience to your dives! Duration 2-3 days

Whether you’re newly certified or have hundreds of dives logged, when you are looking for new underwater experiences, new skills and fun, sign up for this course – your open door to diving adventures!

Course includes : 5 theory lessons, 2 core dives, 3 elective dives, transfers from your hotel to the dive centre, insurance, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card

Enrolment requires : to be an Open Water Diver or equivalent (e.g. CMAS 1*), complete equipment (yours or rented from us) including octopus, SPG, lamp, knife, compass, depth gauge and BCD

RESCUE DIVER

Serious Fun! Duration 4-5 days

Enjoyable or fun might seem unlikely descriptions for a program about preventing dive accidents – but that’s how most certified Rescue Divers describe the course they attended with us. Surprised? Don’t be!

Course includes : 4 theory lessons, 5 practical dive sessions, transfers from your hotel to the dive centre, insurance, PADI Rescue Diver certification card.

Enrolment requires : to be trained in CPR and First Aid within the past 2 years, Advanced Open Water Diver license or equivalent (e.g. BSAC Dive Leader, CMAS 2*) with minimum 20 dives logged, complete diving gear (yours or rented)
