I cant wait to get back to Gouves. The atmosphere is great, calm, quiet and so so relaxing. It has good public transport, so if you dont hire a car you can still get to big towns and attractions. Tourists can be a bit mad on the rented motor bikes, but generally you feel really safe and at ease. and the food is great and excellent value. My next trip to Gouves will be my third! in 6 years! I go every other year!

We whent to gouves last summer and loved it, we just came back (12/06/06) from another fantastic week. this island has everything, cant wait to go back!!! The people are all lovely, extremely frindly! we stayed at gouves park (very german) last year, and the Lavris paradise (beautiful) this year. The beaches and restraunts are great.

This was our first visit to Crete. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at the Cosmi apts. We had a one bedroomed apt as did our daughter and family. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean, and the bedding and towels were changed every 3rd day.
We found Nikos to be okay but maybe that was because we had an 18 month old with us!
The pool was spotless but it did go to nine feet deep.
The snack bar only sold ice-cream apart from drinks. Nikos seemed to close the bar at whatever time he chose at night. It was worth buying a supply of drinks from the supermarket (at the end of the lane) to have in the fridge.
Our favourite eating places were Limanaki (super breakfast), Da Vinci Code, Filoxenia, Kellys Garden and Philipos.
The downfall of the holiday was the travel company Libra. The flight was changed twice from the original booking. The second time being when we received our tickets. The flight was with Air Malta and no food service was available apart from buying sandwiches.
On arrival in Crete at 2.00am we were just directed to our transfer bus with details of our room numbers. There was no Rep on board the bus and we had to rely on the driver pointing out the apts. We then had to find our own rooms.
On departure we never saw a rep from being picked up at the apts to getting on the plane.
We would definitely go back to the Cosmi Apts but never travel with Libra again.

Fantastic holiday second year running. Everything was great staff apartments food. We love Ditsy and Simon Hopefully going back for a third time next year if you can put up with us again Helen Craig Joe and Callum.

Just a few lines to say 'Thanks for a great holiday' to all at Kaissa Beach. The staff were so friendly & helpful, we didnt have anything to complain about at all. Stavarula made us very welcome from the minute we arrived & the staff at the bar were great. Both Lorraine(Daytime) & Jenny (Evenings) made us feel at home. All in all it was a very peaceful,relaxing 2 weeks. I agree with others that the BBQ was very good value for money, at only 15 euro's each, there was a great selection of Greek cuisine(Meats, Salads & Veg). Even the area around the pool was kept clean & tidy along with the rooms. The Linen & towels were clean, although well used, but they were changed 5 times through the two weeks. Also the two maids came in to mop our floors & changed the bins every other day(what excellent service). Also have to mention that we made some new friends while staying there, Jen & Mark, had a great laugh with you both, pity you only had the 1 week with us but it was a good one. Will definately consider returning in the future.

Kaissa Beach

Myself and my husband have just returned from Kiassa Beach in Gouves and would highly recommend. Gouves as a resort is stunning, beautiful beaches and Tavernier’s, with a good selection of bars and shops. The tavernier’s on the beach front are particularly magical. Food is lovely, though can be a little pricey, but the views make up for that. Kiassa beach itself is very friendly, the apartments big enough and fairly clean, we had some great times with Jenny who runs the bar in the evenings. All in all a fantastic 2 week break, and we are hoping to return in September. Tracey from Cambridge
