BARAKI ENTERTAINMENT BAR - Bar Baraki is a family owned bar, some of you might remember it at been called Electric. Kostas opened the bar in 1999 and he changed the name to Bar Baraki in 2004, Bar Baraki means little bar which compared to some it is, but it has a very big heart, as do the owners and all his staff who are there to welcome. We have free entertainment with live music every Thursday and in high season Sunday also.

"A taxi from the Golden bay will cost you 10 Euro, ask the driver to drop  you on the main st in Gouves. This will be near a bar called Baraki, which is a great place. If you go tell the Irish girl working there, you were recommended. Its a great place to chill out."

"Back about a month from a fantastic 2 weeks in Gouves, Crete. Stayed in  the ideally located Lyda Beach – the accommodation is great, especially if you go for a one-bedroom apartment with sea view. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Alanya, behind the bar and A(E)ndreas, the sun bed man, are particularly friendly.

Our favourites  haunts included Oasis, Da Vinci Code and Siu Yuan for food, O’Connors and Bar Baraki for drink and Little Treasures and Bazaar for shopping. Katerina, Costas and Patrick (from Dublin) in Bar Baraki will make you very welcome – be sure and try one of Costas’ cocktails. Before the cocktails why not visit Little Treasures where Jackie (also from Dublin) will help you pick out your gifts to bring home.

My advice is don’t opt for the all-inclusive option for your holiday – its much better to go self-catering – you’d miss out on the craic with the staff in the great restaurants and bars."
